About the Book

Brother Godefrey is a Medieval monk on a pilgrimage through Hell. As a member of the Penitent Order, Godefrey has vowed his service to the Church in atonement for his sins. And he has many sins to atone for.

But the road to absolution will not be an easy one. Godefrey is tasked with joining a band of disgraced soldiers and monks on the Twelfth Expedition to Hell. Their mission is to rescue a wealthy prince from the underworld, in an effort to replenish the dwindling coffers of the Church.

The Twelfth Expedition will venture deep into the infernal lands, following in the footsteps of expeditions past. Along the way, they will discover a world filled with terrible wonders. Their journey will lead them through poisonous swamps and haunted woodlands, in encounters with demonic horrors and eldritch gods.

In the end, the monks will learn that Hell offers its own gifts for those willing to pay the price—and a strange song of hope, for those desperate enough to listen.

From the Church's vaults, these sacred relics tell the history of Hell.

Over the past two hundred years, twelve expeditions have journeyed into Hell at the behest of Mother Church.

They went in search of weapons and relics, of poisons and cures, of salvation and atonement--and to nearly a man, their expeditions were met with disaster.

Their triumphs and miseries have earned their place in storied legend, but have long been kept under lock and key by the Church.

Until now.

Learn more about these ill-fated expeditions in the appendix of "A Song of Hell."
